Anxiety - treatment at home

Anxiety - treatment at home

Anxiety, anxiety disorder, is a state of mindfulness.

If this feeling rarely affects a person, it is normal and does not require specific treatment, however, if the person is often anxious, be careful - in these clinical cases it is necessary to refer the patient to a doctor of appropriate profile.

Please note that if you do not treat the disorder in a timely manner, anxiety is likely to leave a negative mark on both physical and mental health.

Due to the anxiety disorder, the patient complains of tension, is frightened and nervous, even in a seemingly completely insignificant situation, easily gets out of the pile, panics, becomes tense, and so on.

The causes of anxiety are varied; Anxiety disorder may develop as a result of stress, trauma, physical and mental health problems, may be a side effect of medication or may develop due to an inherited factor.

Lifestyle and home remedies

Keep in mind that anxiety does not go away on its own, and unfortunately, in untreated clinical cases, the disorder progresses rapidly and takes a much more acute form.

While most people with anxiety disorders need psychotherapy or medications to get anxiety under control, lifestyle changes also can make a difference.

Here's what you can do:

  • Keep physically active. Develop a routine so that you're physically active most days of the week. Exercise is a powerful stress reducer. It may improve your mood and help you stay healthy. Start out slowly and gradually increase the amount and intensity of your activities.
  • Avoid alcohol
  • Quit smoking and cut back or quit drinking caffeinated beverages. Both nicotine and caffeine can worsen anxiety.
  • Use stress management and relaxation techniques. Visualization techniques, meditation and yoga are examples of relaxation techniques that can ease anxiety.
  • Make sleep a priority.
  • Eat healthy. Eat products rich in vitamins and minerals (fruits, vegetables, fish, whole grain)
