I-Lab, a subsidiary of the Health and Tourism International Center, offers an analysis that can diagnose any pathology of the thyroid gland or, in case of already having a diagnosis (thyroid disorder), check whether the course of treatment prescribed by your doctor is effective or not. Alternative method of disease management.
The cost of determining the concentration of free triiodothyronine in our laboratory (also known as FT3 analysis) is 35 GEL.
The analysis can be done any day of the week, at any time you want.
Please note, pre-registration is required.
Why is FT3 analysis prescribed?
Free triiodothyronine is one of the major hormones produced by the thyroid gland. This hormone regulates the body's metabolism (or how the body functions).
The main purpose of the FT3 test is to diagnose hyperthyroidism, ie an increase in thyroid activity (hyperactive thyroid gland); An FT3 test may also be ordered to monitor the course of treatment prescribed to manage the thyroid disorder already examined.
Typically, the need to determine the concentration of free triiodothyronine arises in clinical cases where the physician suspects a thyroid problem.
Potential disorders are:
- Hyperthyroidism;
- Primary or secondary hyperthyroidism;
- Lack of pituitary function;
- Periodic thyrotoxic paralysis.
Testing is recommended if you experience any of the following symptoms:
- Anxiety;
- Weight loss;
- Hand tremors;
- Increased heart rate;
- Bulging eyes;
- Sleep problems;
- Fatigue;
- Decreased heat tolerance;
- Increased stomach action.
