Ear bleeding means any type of blood that is in or coming from the ear.
It is a symptom of many injuries or pathologies.
Along with bleeding from the ear, you may also notice other symptoms:
- Ear pain;
- Fever;
- Loss of hearing;
- Face burning;
- Dizziness;
- Ringing in the ears.
If bleeding from the ear has developed due to an injury (any injury, be it an accident, a fall, sports or other) you should call an ambulance, the patient should be placed in the emergency department of the clinic.
The cause may be:
- Trauma;
- Accidentally scratched with a nail;
- Inadvertently, cleaning the internal space too deeply with the ear stick;
- Rupture of the middle ear;
- Acute ear infection;
- Foreign body in the ear;
- Ear cancer.
It is not always possible to prevent bleeding from the ear, because most of the time it is formed as a result of unforeseen events. However, the risk of ear infection associated with ear bleeding can be minimized by good personal hygiene (frequent hand washing) and vaccination against viral or bacterial infections.
