What is anaerobic infection?

Anaerobic infection is formed due to anaerobic bacteria. This bacterium is part of the flora of the body and in its natural state does not cause infection and therefore symptoms. However, the acute process begins when the body is traumatized.

As a rule, it is damaged:

  • Abdominal cavity;
  • Genital organ;
  • Heart;
  • Funds;
  • Central nervous system;
  • Respiratory tract;
  • Skin;
  • Oral cavity.

Common anaerobic infections are:

  • Appendicitis;
  • Abscess;
  • Sinusitis;
  • Tetanus;
  • Pneumonia;
  • Periodontitis;
  • Peritonitis

The risk increases if the anamnesis records the following:

  • The process of proper blood supply is disturbed;
  • Staphylococcal infection;
  • Open wound
  • Diabetes;
  • Weak immunity.

Symptoms characteristic of anaerobic infection are:

  • Visible skin infection;
  • Smelly discharge;
  • Abscess filled with pus;
  • Tissue damage or gangrene;
  • The infected area changes color.

If the infection is in the oral cavity, the patient suffers from sensitivity of the gums, unpleasant odor, pain.

Chest pain or cough occurs during a lung infection.

In case of skin spread, anaerobic infection is manifested by pain, swelling and redness.
