What is atychiphobia?
Atychiphobia is a fear of failure, which is why many people are unable to find strength in themselves and easily give in to obstacles.
During atychiphobia, a person often predisposes himself to a negative outcome and even believes that success is only in the hands of the chosen ones.
It is a phobia of making mistakes, failures and failures, a constant fear.
Not everyone will experience this type of fear in the same way. The severity runs along a spectrum from mild to extreme. Phobias like atychiphobia can be so extreme that they completely paralyze you, making it difficult to carry on with your tasks at home, school, or work.
You may even miss out on important opportunities in your life, both personally and professionally.
Physical symptoms may include:
- difficulty breathing
- unusually fast heart rate
- tightness or pain in your chest
- trembling or shaking sensations
- dizziness or lightheadedness
- digestive distress
- sweating
Emotional symptoms may include:
- intense feeling of panic or anxiety
- overwhelming need to escape a situation that produces the fear
- feeling like you’ve lost control over a situation
- generally feeling powerless over your fear
Treatment of atychiphobia-like phobias is individual, although the main goal of the treatment course is to improve the patient's quality of life.
