What causes premature ejaculation?
Premature ejaculation is a diagnosis that means that during intimate intercourse, sperm is released from the male body before the desired time.
It is a common complaint - statistically, one in every 3 men has premature ejaculation.
The main symptom is that during sexual intercourse, ejaculation occurs within 3 minutes of penetration. The same result is expected during masturbation.
The exact cause is unknown. For years, it was thought that premature ejaculation was due to psychological factors alone, but today doctors have changed their minds and name a combination of psychological and biological factors in the diagnosis.
Psychological factors are:
- Early sexual experience;
- Sexual abuse;
- The man does not like his appearance, has low self-esteem;
- Depression;
- Fear of premature ejaculation and annoying your partner.
Other factors include:
- Erectile dysfunction;
- Anxiety;
- Relationship problems.
Premature ejaculation can cause fertility problems - in itself, the chance of getting pregnant is reduced if ejaculation does not occur in the vagina.
