A village where only 1 person lives

The only registered resident of this village is a woman over 80 years old.

Monowi is located in Nebraska (USA).

Elsie Eiler, the only resident of the village, who is also mayor, librarian and also serves as a librarian and welcomes guests with delicious drinks at the bar.

In the 1930s, 150 people lived in the village. Like other small settlements, the young people left Monowi and moved to the big cities, where they were waiting for a job and a high salary.

In 2000, the population of Monowi consisted of only two locals - Elsie and her husband Rudy remained in the village. Sadly, Rudy died in 2004, and after his death, Elsie became the only resident of the world's smallest settlement.

Although Monowi is almost abandoned, it is visited by many tourists who are interested in Elsie's daily life. Journalists, bloggers write about Monowi, the village has hosted numerous TV shows. Local bar is also very important, where all the guests are waiting for delicious dishes and cold drinks.
