How to treat a paper cut?

A paper cut is tiny, but very painful.

In fact, in a large percentage of clinical cases, this type of injury heals within 2-3 days and without any medical intervention. However, to relieve discomfort and speed up the healing process of the wound, you can take a certain course.

The first thing you should do is wash the injured hand with soap and water. Apply antibiotic ointment to clean skin. If the wound is large, you can cover it with a bandage.

If you have a paper cut, you should wear gloves in the following situations:

• Washing dishes;
• Preparing food;
• Working in the garden;
• Traveling by public transport.

As already mentioned, a paper cut heals easily, but do not exclude the risk of complications, since the integrity of the skin has been broken.

Be sure to see a doctor if you have any of the following symptoms:

• Increased redness;
• Swelling;
• Persistent pain;
• Pus or fluid;
• Warmth to the touch.
