Fibroblast

What is a fibroblast?

Fibroblast is the main cell of connective tissue.

Fibroblast produces and renews collagen fibers. This cell is necessary for wound healing, tissue repair, and maintaining the structure of the body's connective tissue.

Proteins, including collagen, are synthesized by fibroblasts. Fibroblasts produce new collagen fibers and many other non-cellular components in the damaged area of the body - as a result, the injured tissue heals much more easily, the healing process is accelerated.

The function of fibroblasts also includes communication between different cells, taking care of the density and elasticity of the skin.

Fibroblast therapy is widely used in modern cosmetology. During this cosmetic procedure, skin cells are stimulated, filled with collagen, and as a result, the skin structure can be restored/rejuvenated.
