Stridor - noise during breathing

What is stridor, wheezing?

Stridor is noise during breathing. With this diagnosis, a kind of whistling sound is heard when inhaling or exhaling.

This symptom is caused by many pathologies, although the most common cause is a foreign body stuck in the airways. Be sure to consult a doctor, as noise during breathing can be a life-threatening symptom.

Stridor can occur in people of any age, although it is more common in children - compared to adults, the airways of children are much narrower, therefore, the risk is higher in this age category.
