Cat scratch fever - methods of prevention.
Cat-scratch fever (also known as cat-scratch disease) is a bacterial infection - people become infected by being bitten or scratched by a cat. Fleas spread this disease in cats themselves.
Infection is characterized by rash, swelling of lymph nodes, fever.
I recommend following these methods if you are around a cat.
For the prevention of cat scratch disease:
- First of all, avoid being scratched or bitten by the cat;
- Wash your hands after playing with or touching the cat;
- To protect yourself from flea bites, keep a cat at home;
- Do not pet or touch street cats;
- If you already have any kind of wound or scratch on your skin, do not allow a cat to lick you.
- Ask the veterinarian how it is possible to protect the cat from fleas;
- People with a weak immune system should buy or adopt from a shelter only a cat over 1 year old, a kitten under 1 year old is not recommended for your body.
