Skin fungus

What should you know about skin fungus?

In a large percentage of clinical cases, fungal infections are not life-threatening and are treatable, mainly by prescribing appropriate treatment creams.

Tinea is the medical term for a fungal infection of the skin.

No one is immune from fungal rashes - according to statistics, 20-25% of the world's population suffers from skin and nail infections.

You may develop a skin rash if you are in the following risk groups:

  • Weakened immune system;
  • You have been taking or consuming antibiotics for a long time;
  • You are overweight;
  • You have diabetes;
  • Strong sweating;
  • Pregnancy;
  • You use new skin care products.

Fungal infection of the skin spreads over a large area of the body, the rash is also bright red. A fungal rash can appear anywhere on the body (especially in areas where there are skin folds). Note that the fungal rash is red in color and causes a burning sensation and itching. Some patients also have swollen pimples.

When the skin comes into contact with the harmful fungus, the infection spreads and a rash appears. For example, if you wear the shoes of a person diagnosed with athlete's foot (a fungal infection) and the fungus comes into contact with the foot, you too will get it.

The rash is spread from person to person or animal to person through direct contact.
