Why does the lip change color?
The cause of the blue color can be both environmental factors, for example, cold water or weather, and health problems.
Cyanosis is defined as the condition when the skin and mucous membrane acquires a bluish color. The main symptom of cyanosis is a blue or bluish color of the lips, which is unnatural and pathological for the physiological state of this organ.
The lip may turn blue suddenly or over time. The color will return to its natural state, the symptom will disappear as soon as the underlying cause is cured.
You may notice that along with the lip, other parts of the body have acquired a pathological color - usually, it is visually noticeable in the part of the body where the skin layer is relatively thin.
