In case of which symptom should the patient be admitted to the clinic?
Food poisoning is one of the most common diseases.
In a large percentage of clinical cases, symptoms are manageable at home - the patient is encouraged to rest, drink fluids. However, during the acute course, it becomes necessary to be hospitalized and treated in a clinic.
Symptoms begin within hours of consuming contaminated food or drink.
It is characterized by:
- Headache;
- Tiredness
- Dry mouth;
- Abdominal pain and spasm;
- Nausea and vomiting;
- Frequent diarrhea;
- Temperature
Call 911 for the following symptoms:
- Loss of consciousness;
- Confusion;
- Difficulty breathing;
- Difficulty swallowing;
- Dizziness;
- High fever;
- The patient has no desire to urinate or the urine is very dark in color;
- Seizures and abdominal spasms, convulsions;
- Severe diarrhea and vomiting (you may also notice blood);
- Vision-related changes.
