Nausea

Nausea

Almost everyone has experienced this symptom at least once in their life.

Nausea may be accompanied by other symptoms, such as:

  • General weakness;
  • Sweating;
  • Accumulation of saliva in the mouth;
  • Strong urge to vomit.

In a large percentage of clinical cases, the cause of discomfort is viral gastroenteritis (stomach flu).

Other causes of nausea include:

  • Pregnancy;
  • Strong pain;
  • Chemical toxins;
  • Emotional stress;
  • Gall bladder disease;
  • Digestive system disorder;
  • Sensitivity to certain smells.

Sometimes nausea is a side effect of some medications.

Be sure to consult a doctor if you feel nauseous for more than a week.

Immediately contact the clinic if nausea is accompanied by the following symptoms:

  • Blood in saliva;
  • Severe headache or neck pain;
  • Fatigue;
  • Confusion;
  • Ability to concentrate is impaired;
  • Severe abdominal pain;
  • High fever;
  • Diarrhea;
  • Pain in the chest;
  • Rapid heartbeat or pulse.

If nausea is accompanied by vomiting, the risk of dehydration increases significantly - children are especially sensitive to dehydration.
