What is systemic vasculitis?

Systemic vasculitis is a subacute disease associated with symptoms and signs characteristic of chronic inflammation.

Systemic vasculitis includes a group of diseases in which blood vessels are damaged. During this diagnosis, inflammation and necrosis of all layers of the blood vessel wall develop - the pathological process may be accompanied by blood vessel occlusion, ischemia of organs or tissues.

The disease can affect all organs and systems of the body.

The course of treatment depends on the specific clinical case, the patient's general state of health and the severity of the disease.

The term vasculitis refers to inflammation of a blood vessel, which is characterized by the destruction and inflammation of the blood vessel wall. In the case of systemic vasculitis, we are dealing with a wide group of diseases, pathologies that affect various organs and are manifested by an acute clinical course.

Notable symptoms are:

  • Fever;
  • Pain in one or several joints;
  • General weakness;
  • Muscle pain;
  • Headache and scalp weakness;
  • Vision problems;
  • Loss of sensation or weakness in the limb and other signs.
