It is necessary to follow certain recommendations when taking medicine.
What does the correct use of the drug mean? Many aspects, because even a seemingly insignificant nuance is quite possible to be of decisive importance. Taking medicine incorrectly, mixing medicines together and changing the dose arbitrarily (without a doctor's recommendation) are dangerous for health.
Some medications are prescribed before meals and some should be taken only after meals. As you know, if you take a number of medicines on an empty stomach, you will seriously irritate this organ and acute symptoms will appear. That is why you should always read the annotation, and you should also know the information about side effects.
Preferably, it is recommended to add water to the medicine - it is a gift of nature, essential and universal liquid for health.
Keep in mind that the risk of developing side effects increases significantly if you add another liquid to the medicine. Milk, juice can change the pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics of the drug.
Alcohol is not allowed!
Some medicines should be taken with water for several reasons:
- The drug may cause dehydration (water protects you from dehydration);
- The medicine can damage the kidney or cause kidney stones. It is this risk that water reduces - it dilutes the excess medicine, and not too much medicine flows into the kidney at the same time.
According to some scientific papers, other types of juice (including orange and apple) cause problems. The juice removes, damages some anti-cancer drugs. The same effect occurs with high blood pressure medications. Some antibiotics also do not work properly if the juice is taken.
It is important to fill the body with the desired amount of water, not only while taking the medicine. It is water that protects us from dehydration, and therefore from dangerous complications caused by dehydration.
It is impossible to tell you how much water you should drink per day, because every organism is individual and the anamnesis can be checked by itself. However, if you are rarely thirsty and your urine is colorless or pale yellow, you should drink the recommended amount of water.
