What exactly is Déjà vu?
Did you feel that you have seen the current situation in the past? The sensation we are talking about is known as déjà vu.
There’s no conclusive evidence on how common it actually is, but varying estimates suggest anywhere between 60 and 80 percent of the population experience this phenomenon.
And yet what is Déjà Vu? Unfortunately, one and specific, exact answer to this question is still unknown, although scientists are focusing on several theories.
It should be mentioned that déjà vu may be accompanied by an attack of epilepsy, although the sensation is also common in practically healthy people.
According to one theory, déjà vu occurs when a person looks at the same object at two different moments, for example, looks at a chair in a corner, but at that moment you are not paying much attention. Nevertheless, the brain stores this object in memory. After a while, if you find yourself in the same room, of course, you will get the feeling that you have already seen it.
According to some experts, déjà vu is a reaction to an event that is very similar to something that a person has already experienced but does not remember. For example, you may be in an interior or see a view that actually looks like a certain event to you, but you do not remember.
According to some scientists, the reason for déjà vu may be a situation when a person recalls a fact from life or recalls a shot he saw in a dream.
Experts do not exclude that stress or overwork may be the cause of the phenomenon.
