What is trypanophobia?
Trypanophobia is a severe fear of needles. This phobia is so severe that a person avoids consulting a doctor as much as possible, is afraid of vaccinations, blood transfusions and any other medical manipulations that require needles.

- A history of other phobias related to illness or medicine;
- Anxiety disorders.
Typical symptoms are:
- Dizziness or fainting;
- Rapid heartbeat;
- Insomnia;
- Nausea and vomiting;
- Temporary increase in blood pressure;
- Increased sensitivity to pain;
- Seeing a needle brings back memories of negative or traumatic situations.
