Have you ever let a seemingly insignificant issue slip your mind?
Unfortunately, many people in the world suffer from overthinking.
Don't get the term wrong, yes, we have a brain for thinking, but overthinking is not necessary. Scientists conducted an interesting study and received remarkable results, namely, 73% of people aged 25 to 35 are chronically obsessed with some topic, and the same problem is faced by 52% of people aged 45 to 55.
The reasons for overthinking and overanalyzing are diverse, they appear against the background of a number of factors.
This attitude seriously harms any type of relationship, and what's worse is that it prevents us from taking an important step in life. Some people even have the illusion that overthinking and analyzing are a manifestation of productivity - in fact, you are increasingly moving away from reality and at one point you may feel as if you are frozen in a certain moment.
Typical symptoms are:
- Perfectionism, you do not allow yourself to make a mistake and strive for perfection in everything;
- Constant self-criticism;
- You simply cannot think about anything else;
- You are unable to relax;
- You are constantly anxious and nervous;
- As if you are deliberately choosing a task that is beyond your control;
- You feel mentally burned out.
The following physical symptoms appear:
- Fatigue;
- Headaches;
- Changes in appetite;
- Problems with sleep;
- Decreased ability to concentrate;
- Gastrointestinal problems;
- Muscle tension.
