Ingrown toenails are not only unsightly but also uncomfortable.
They are usually caused by fungal infections, aging, psoriasis, and other factors.
The course of treatment is individual and depends on the cause and the severity of the symptoms in the nail area.
It is recommended to trim/cut your nails frequently, and keep your hands and feet dry and clean at all times.
It would be good if you moisturized your skin, as this will prevent cracks and protect you from nail infections.
To prevent ingrown toenails, we recommend:
- Always wear gloves in damp environments;
- Do not use someone else's nail clippers/tweezers;
- Do not share towels;
- Do not walk barefoot in public spaces;
- Any cosmetic procedure on the nails should be performed only in a salon that has the appropriate license and certificate;
- Get a manicure and pedicure in an institution where the sterilization of instruments is carried out in compliance with all standards;
- Do not wear wet socks or shoes.
