The feeling of pain or pressure in the area behind the eyes is quite possible to be caused by a completely different area of the head. Eye diseases do present with pain and vision problems, but rarely cause a feeling of pressure.
Patients describe the pain as sharp, burning, burning, and the feeling of pressure leaves a feeling of fullness and tension in the eye.
Causes of feeling of pressure behind the eyes are:
- Migraine and other types of headache;
- Sinus infection;
- Graves' disease;
- Optic neuritis;
- Trauma to the face.
Be sure to contact your doctor if you experience such serious symptoms as:
- High fever;
- Loss of sight;
- Acute headache;
- Lose the ability to move in any part of the body or complain of numbness.
