What is ascites?

Ascites means accumulation of fluid in the abdominal cavity.

The main symptom of ascites is a large belly and rapid weight gain.

Other signs include:

  • Swelling of the ankle;
  • Shortness of breath;
  • Bloating;
  • Loss of appetite;
  • Stomach-ache;
  • Constipation;
  • Back pain;
  • It is difficult for the patient to sit;
