What is rhinophyma?
Rhinophyma is a skin disorder that causes enlargement of the nose; In addition, other expected symptoms are swelling, thickening of the skin, rupture of blood vessels.
The diagnosis is much more common in men, and statistically, the disease is common in people between the ages of 50 and 70.
Doctors do not know the exact cause of the pathology, although acne rosacea is considered to be the precursor.
In the early stages, drug therapy is effective, however, as the disease progresses, surgical intervention is necessary, as the damaged tissue may cause airway obstruction.
The first symptom of rosacea is extreme redness of the face. As rhinophyma progresses, the following signs appear:
- Thickening of the skin on the nose and face;
- Enlargement of the nose;
- Swollen texture on the face area;
- Enlarged pores;
