What is a birthmark, a spot?
It is a kind of different spot on the skin. The birthmark is common, many people have it - the spot varies in shape and size. Most of the time, the baby is given a term immediately after birth.
Some birthmarks fade with age, while others remain on the skin for the rest of your life until you decide to remove them with plastic or cosmetic treatments.
As a rule, in a large percentage, the congenital mark is painless and harmless. However, some and, for example, certain types of moles, increase the risk of developing skin cancer, therefore, in case of any changes or unusual symptoms, you should immediately consult a doctor.
The exact cause of birthmarks is unknown.
In some clinical cases, it is formed against the background of the following factors:
- Blood vessels are not properly formed during the process of fetal development;
- Melanocyte cells (the cells that give your skin its color) cluster together;
- Family anamnesis, genetic predisposition;
- Some diseases in the anamnesis.
