Radiology

What is radiology?

Modern medicine is unthinkable without radiological studies. It is needed both for diagnosis and monitoring, for the prevention of any possible complications.

Radiology provides a means of visual control of various organs, systems or the whole body. Radiology has given many patients a second life, increased their quality of life.

Radiology was founded in Germany in 1895.

All medical sectors are based on radiology, namely:

  • Surgery;
  • Pediatrics;
  • Oncology;
  • Emergency;
  • Infectious diseases;
  • Trauma management;
  • Obstetrics and Gynecology and others.

Radiological research methods are:

  • X-ray research;
  • Ultrasound;
  • Magnetic resonance imaging;
  • Computer tomography;
  • PET-CT;
  • Mammography and others.

Diagnostic radiology is used to identify a number of health problems (broken bones, heart disease, blood clots, etc.), while interventional radiology is used to monitor medical procedures.
