Ear pain

Ear pain is a common complaint and is especially common in children.

In a large percentage of clinical cases, it is caused by an ear infection.

Other possible causes:

 

  • Traveling by plane (change in air pressure);
  • Foreign body in the ear;
  • Trauma in the ear;
  • Sulfur plug.

 

Ear pain may stem from other problems in the body:

  • Sinusitis or tonsillitis;
  • Problem in the jaw joint;
  • Tooth, dental problem.

 

Consult a doctor for the following symptoms:

  • Ear pain became chronic or the symptom worsened;
  • Discharge from the ear;
  • Fever or general weakness;
  • You have hearing loss;
  • History of diabetes or weak immunity;
  • A child under 2 years old suffers from ear pain.

 

The course of treatment depends on the underlying cause.

 

The following methods may help to ease the discomfort:

 

  • Put a warm cloth on the ear;
  • Take a painkiller;
  • Put your head on 2 pillows and sleep like that, relax.
