What is disorientation?

Disorientation is an altered mental state, during which the patient may not know where he is, find it difficult to confirm his identity, or not know what time it is.

Disorientation is often accompanied by other symptoms, namely:

  • Confusion;
  • Delusion;
  • Hallucination;
  • Excitement, restlessness, irritability.

The possible causes can be:

  • Amnesia;
  • Gas poisoning;
  • Cerebral arteritis;
  • Cirrhosis;
  • Encephalitis or meningitis;
  • Dehydration;
  • Electrical pathologies;
  • Epilepsy;
  • Fever;
  • Hypothermia;

  • Vestibular diseases;
  • Kidney failure;
