What is a conduct disorder?

Conduct disorder is a mental health condition that includes a variety of patterns of aggression and unruly behavior. Children with this diagnosis often violate social norms and laws.

Conduct disorder is often accompanied by other psychiatric conditions, namely:

  • Depression;
  • Attention deficit/hyperactivity syndrome;
  • Learning disability.

The disease may appear in persons under the age of 10, but it is mainly formed during the transition period. The diagnosis is much more common in male children.

Symptoms

Symptoms characteristic of conduct disorder develop over time. During this diagnosis, the patient is prone to impulsive behavior and it is difficult to manage the condition. They don't care much about other people's feelings.

Signs of a behavioral disorder include:

  • Aggression towards people and animals;
  • Raiding private or business property;
  • Lie;
  • Theft;
  • Violation of rules, laws;
  • Bullying;
  • Physical violence;
  • Verbal fight;
  • Threat
  • Blaming one's own behavior on others;
  • Robbery of individuals or shops;
  • Does not attend classes;
  • Running away from home;
  • Taking alcohol;
  • Does not hide aggressive behavior;
  • It is difficult to have relationships, to make friends;
  • Does not feel guilty about his own behavior;
  • It is easy to get frustrated

For treatment, psychotherapy is provided to manage symptoms.
