Signs of emotional stress

Stress is a normal reaction to the pressures of everyday life.

Nervousness, fear, anger, boredom and other emotions are normal reactions of the body. All of these emotions are part of our lives, but if you're struggling to perform or run out of stress because of stress, it's already a sign of a very unhealthy condition.

Emotional stress manifests itself in physical, mental and behavioral symptoms.

Physical symptoms include:

  • Rapid heartbeat, chest pain;
  • Body pain;
  • Headache;
  • Shortness of breath;
  • Fatigue;
  • Depressed mood;
  • Anxiety;
  • Dizziness;
  • Weight loss or gain;
  • Grinding of teeth;
  • You sleep unusually long or vice versa;
  • Gastrointestinal problems;
  • Problems with intimacy.

Mental or behavioral symptoms:

  • You are more emotional than usual;
  • You have the feeling that you are on the edge because of your emotions;
  • Problems related to memory;
  • It is difficult for you to make decisions, solve problems, concentrate;
  • You drink alcohol to cope with emotional stress.
