What is insomnia?
Insomnia means that a person does not sleep soundly for the recommended amount of time.
Both the acute and chronic forms are very common - 1 in 3 people worldwide have symptoms characteristic of this diagnosis, with about 10% approaching the criteria for an insomnia disorder.
Depending on the severity, doctors treat insomnia as a medical condition.
Causes
Doctors and experts still do not know the exact cause, although many factors contribute to its formation.
Some risk factors that cause insomnia:

- Fear of falling asleep due to nightmares;
- Night panic attack;
- When a person does not feel safe at home;
- A kind of awake sleep, when you easily wake up even at the slightest sound.
