What causes abdominal bloating?

During bloating, a person feels as if his stomach is full or complains of some kind of tightness.

Abdominal bloating is characterized by the following symptoms:

  • Diarrhea;
  • Constipation;
  • Swelling;
  • Excess gases;
  • Spasm;

It is formed on the background of many reasons. The most common risk factors are:

  • Large amount of salty food;
  • Excess carbohydrates;
  • A large amount of carbonated drinks.

Causes of regular bloating include:

  • Celiac disease;
  • Lactose intolerance;
  • Constipation;
  • Irritable bowel syndrome;
  • Hormones (before the cycle or during menopause);
  • Helicobacter pylori infection;
  • Some medications (a kind of side effect);
  • Weight gain;
  • Stress.
