Snoring - causes and complicated clinical cases

Snoring is a sound that a person makes during sleep due to partial difficulty in breathing.

Snoring causes discomfort to the partner as well, and in some clinical cases (if it has a chronic form) it is quite expected to be formed against the background of the pathological process taking place in the body.

If you often suffer from this discomfort, it is recommended to consult a doctor in order to avoid any possible complications and for a timely diagnosis of the underlying cause.

Snoring is formed for a number of reasons, for example:

  • Anatomy of the human mouth and sinuses;
  • Alcohol consumption;
  • Allergy;
  • Overweight;
  • Cold;
  • Family anamnesis;
  • Structural defect in airways.

The diagnosis of snoring and sleep apnea is much more common in men.

If snoring is associated with obstructive sleep apnea, the risk of the following complications increases:

  • Drowsiness during the day;
  • Anger, irritation;
  • Decrease in ability to concentrate;
  • Risk of high blood pressure, heart diseases and stroke;
  • Behavioral problems;
  • Increased risk while driving due to sleeplessness.
