Calcium deposit - why does calcinosis appear?

What is a calcium deposit?

Calcinosis is formed when an excess amount of calcium accumulates in the body.

There are different types of calcium deposits. Calcinosis can form in different areas of the body, for example, in soft tissues, arteries or organs. It is worth noting that some calcium deposits are normal, but most forms cause health problems.

An overdose of calcium hardens tissues, organs, and blood vessels, which in itself hinders their normal functioning. Against the background of some pathologies, calcium deposits may appear in the brain, kidney, and blood vessels.

Calcinosis does not occur due to the diet of calcium-rich products.

Causes of calcium deposits are:

  •  Infection;
  •  Old age;
  •  Inflammation;
  •  Disturbance of calcium metabolism;
  •  Some autoimmune disorders.
