Risk factors for dementia.
The risk of developing dementia is high if there is a family history. The risk increases with age, and it is especially important to monitor the health status of people over 65 years old.
Modern medicine still does not know the exact methods of disease prevention, however, a healthy lifestyle reduces the risk of developing dementia as much as possible.
Research on this issue is still ongoing, but a number of recommendations may prove useful.
For example, it is recommended to:
- Mind training, memory improvement;
- Rejection of tobacco;
- Intake of products rich in vitamins and especially vitamin D;
- Regularly check blood pressure, cholesterol level;
- In case of obesity, lose extra kilos;
- Often eat fruits, vegetables, whole grains, nuts, foods containing omega-3 fatty acids;
- You should sleep peacefully at night and definitely fix any kind of sleep-related problems;
- If you notice a complaint related to hearing, consult a doctor in time and improve your ear health.
