What is the purpose of the analysis?

The aim of the study is to check the level of parathyroid hormone in the blood.

This hormone is produced by the thyroid gland. Blood calcium levels are controlled by parathyroid hormone.

What is the function of calcium?

Calcium is a mineral that helps maintain healthy bones and teeth. This mineral is very useful for the proper functioning of the nerve, muscles and heart.

If the level of calcium in the blood is very low, the thyroid gland produces parathyroid hormone for defense - it is with the help of parathyroid hormone that the level of calcium rises. If calcium is present in an overdose, the thyroid gland stops producing parathyroid hormones. In any case, inadequate dose of parathyroid hormone, imbalance (both small and excessive) causes serious health problems.
