Why does a scab form?
Scab is a hard, dried blood clot that forms on a cut to stop bleeding and protect the tissue. Scab is part of the wound healing process, but not all wounds develop.
It has 2 main purposes:
Scab usually forms when the skin around the wound remains dry. If the skin around the wound is treated with an antibiotic cream or other healing ointment in a timely manner, a scab may not form.

Scabies cause itching, and this discomfort is a natural part of the wound healing process. It can be difficult to control, but try your best not to pick at scabies.
