What is Xanthelasma?
Xanthelasma is a harmless, yellow bump on the skin of the eyelid. It can be soft, pale.
Xanthelasma can be removed surgically, with chemical peels, or with hot or cold therapy. Treatment will produce the desired result, but it will take several sessions. Keep in mind that after removal, xanthelasma may reappear.

Statistically, half of people with xanthelasma have a history of high cholesterol.
Risk factors include:
- Gender (women);
- Being overweight;

- Diabetes;
- High blood pressure;
- A family history of high cholesterol or xanthelasma.
Occurs in people between the ages of 20 and 70, although the diagnosis is more common in people between the ages of 35 and 55.
