When a person refuses food

When a person refuses food

Why do people get food aversions?

The body refuses to eat food when it has a strong aversion or unpleasant feeling towards a particular product.

The cause of nausea or other types of discomfort is the smell, visual aspect or taste of food.

This is a fairly common condition and no one is immune from aversion to any dish, although the diagnosis is much more common in pregnant women and children.

Of course, you should not eat food that you do not like, but it would be good not to deprive the body of nutrients and replace it with another product.

Strangely enough, but there have been many cases when a person has an aversion to the food that he used to love very much.

Acute symptoms that may appear:

  • Difficulty losing or gaining weight;
  • Nutritional deficiency;
  • Dehydration;
  • Frequent headaches.

The exact cause of food aversion is unknown, meaning scientists have not yet identified the exact cause. However, hormonal and sensory processing changes are cited as contributing factors to the diagnosis.
