Circulatory failure

Circulatory failure

What is circulatory failure?

As a rule, high blood pressure is often discussed, but sometimes people forget that low blood pressure is no less important.

During an acute illness or severe trauma, blood pressure can drop so much that it causes circulatory failure in the body. When blood pressure drops, cells suffer from a lack of oxygen, in fact, they starve. Oxygen is necessary for the proper functioning of each cell. Against the background of prolonged circulatory failure, the ability of organs to function is disrupted. Such a dangerous complication as circulatory shock can be expected.

Low blood pressure can occur in any person - often, it manifests itself with such an unpleasant symptom as a star-like glow in the eyes when standing up.

The patient should be immediately admitted to the emergency department of the clinic if the following symptoms occur:

  • Confusion;
  • Rapid and shallow breathing;
  • Unconsciousness;
  • Pale, clammy skin.
