What causes armpit pain?
The armpit is where the muscles that move the shoulder and arms attach to the bone. Some of these muscles are also attached to the ribs. Important nerves and blood vessels of the body extend to other parts of the body through the armpit, and both armpits are home to several lymph nodes. The skin under the armpit is thin and this area contains many sweat glands.
You may complain of armpit pain for a number of reasons, such as shaving, ingrown hairs, autoimmune conditions, nerve disorders, peripheral arterial disease, bacterial and fungal infections.
Pain in the armpit area may occur due to deodorant, for example, if you have an allergy or hypersensitivity to any of the ingredients.
The cause of pain in the armpit can be either a minor or a much more serious disease, therefore, if you have been suffering for several days and at the same time notice other symptoms, be sure to consult a doctor.
You should consult a doctor in case of the following symptoms:
- It's been a few weeks since you had swollen lymph nodes for no reason at all;
- Strong pain in armpit or lymph nodes when touched;
- Swelling of lymph nodes located in different parts of the body;

- Firmness can be felt in the armpit or lymph nodes;
- Difficulty in swallowing and breathing;
