Dehydrated skin

How to recognize the symptoms of dehydrated skin?

Dehydrated skin means that the skin is losing water, experiencing a lack of water.

During this diagnosis, the skin is visually dry and colorless, the patient suffers from itching, lines and wrinkles become more noticeable.

Dehydrated skin has a parched effect, although it is not the same as a dry skin type. Dehydrated skin and dry skin are two different phenomena - dehydration is a condition and dry skin is a skin type. In case of dehydration, the lack of water is fixed, and in case of dryness, there is a lack of natural fat.

During dehydration, the following symptoms appear:

  • Itching;
  • Lifeless look, skin color has lost its natural sharpness;
  • Darkness under the eyes;
  • Some kind of shadows around the nose;
  • Surface lines and wrinkles become much sharper;
  • Sunken eyes.

Acute dehydration involves the whole body and causes the following symptoms:

  • Dizziness;
  • Dry mouth;
  • Loss of heart;
  • General weakness;
  • Dark colored urine;
  • The amount of urine is reduced.

The first step in treating dehydrated skin is to drink the recommended amount of water. Hydration and lifestyle changes are effective in themselves (rejection of tobacco, reducing the dose of caffeine and alcohol, regular exercise, restful sleep, a diet rich in fruits and vegetables, drinking water during physical activity, etc.).

In case of acute dehydration, it is necessary to transfer the patient to a clinic and treat him with intravenous fluids.
