What causes back pain?
The back is made up of a complex structure of muscles, bones, discs, tendons, ligaments - each working to enable the body to move. A problem with any of these components directly affects the functioning of the back, so symptoms appear. In some clinical cases, the underlying cause remains unknown.
A contributing factor to back pain can be physical activity, trauma, or any disease. No one is immune from this discomfort, it occurs in any age group.
With increasing age, the risk of developing back pain increases significantly.
The most common causes of back pain are:
